It is highly recommended to hold an HND (Higher National Diploma) and/or a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent knowledge, before starting a Cortex programme. It is a recommendation only: it is never enforced, and there is nothing to enrol in here.

- Bachelor's degree
- A Bachelor's degree is the standard undergraduate qualification, typically three to four years of full-time university study in a single field. We recommend it because our programmes assume you are comfortable reading technical material, working independently to a deadline, and carrying an argument from evidence to conclusion. Read more

- A Higher National Diploma is a two-year, work-focused higher education qualification that sits below a full Bachelor's degree and is widely accepted as equivalent to its first two years. We recommend it because it delivers exactly the hands-on, practice-first grounding our taught phases and labs build on. Read more
